Did you know that plastic bags were supposed to be banned in California on the first of this month? It didn't happen because plastic bag companies threw a fit and paid a lot of money to delay the bill.
The story of stuff is doing a #mybag campaign to celebrate reusable bags, help the law pass, and create awareness of the dangers of plastic bags.
Plastic pollution is a problem. 10 metric tons of plastic is carried into the ocean a day. One million plastic bags are used every minute. A million sea birds and 100,000 marine animals are killed annually due to plastic pollution.
You can make a huge difference by just remembering to bring your reusable bags to the store! It's so easy. Take a picture and use #mybag to help end plastic pollution.
I was nominated by Danielle from No Need For Mars to show off my bag.
You've already seen my market bag. But, this is one of my favorites. It's a great sturdy tote for jars or for my reusable produce and bread bags in my other hand. Plus, it's super pretty and a gift from my mom.
Now it's my turn to nominate some fellow zero waste bloggers.
Ju Lien from Greener Family in 365 Days, Esme from The Rogue Ginger, and Eduardo from Caring for the Environment
There are zero waste bloggers all over the world! I invite you to check them out. Also, please post to social media with #mybag and tag your friends! Let's bring an end to plastic bags
